GAME ART

In September 2023 I started my new studies in Game Art & Animation and have done some projects over the months spend doing this. On this page I dedicate the work I have put in during my 3D art journey and the progress I’ve made with it so far.

Module I

About module I

"2D Fundamentals" was the first module leading to the Game Art and Animation degree. It taught the fundamentals of traditional and digital drawing (Adobe Photoshop). We were asked to make groups and come up with a concept for a game. Each individual would then create an asset/prop for this game by drawing it out in 2D.

My group and I went for a Viking story for our game, based on Norse Mythology. For this game concept I made a dual scythe for our protagonist, that he crafted in Helheim. For this reason the scythe has cooler colours, since Helheim is said to be cold and icy.

Module II

About module II

In the second module we covered the basics and fundamentals of 3D modelling in Autodesk 3DS Max and even a little bit of texturing in Adobe Substance Painter.
Here you can see the progress I have made from start to finish of this module, beginning with the first ever 3D models I made with a little to no knowledge of modelling, to knowing how to model, unwrap, bake, and texture.

Module III

About module III

Currently we are in module III, which is all about sculpting and PBR texturing, using mainly ZBrush, Autodesk Maya and Adobe Substance Painter. The assignment is to make a 3D diorama.
I came up with the idea to make some kind of humanoid monster in an eerie and dark forest, mildly inspired by the Witcher. I started off making some simple concept art for myself and then went on with the rest: sculpting, retopolgy and texturing.
